Paediatric out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (POHCA) is a life-threatening event associated with extremely poor outcomes. Survival rates of POHCA have been reported at 10.2% (2). Many children who survive a POHCA event have a significant new neurological impairment (3). Paramedics provide immediate onscene management of POHCA and play a key role in survival outcomes. Early on-scene management including early epinephrine administration and optimal time spent on scene have been shown to improve survival outcomes.
